Snowpocalypse 2010

“These boots are made for walking.”

Snowpocalypse. SnOMG. Snowmageddon. It is currently day six of the massive snowstorm that has crippled DC and is creeping up the northeast corridor. I’ve been through about nine district winters and have never witnessed any like this one.

I admit, blizzards pose a threat to cuteness. But, there is hope.  Recently, I went on a search for snow boots — real snow boots.  Not the ubiquitous Ugg boots, but the anti-ugg if you will. A quick trip to the mall, a Macy’s shoe salesman who understood my style, and $80 produced:

Naturalizer snow boots

Though I wore them when I first got them weeks ago, the real test was Snowpocalypse day five. They are sophisticated, have great traction, are warm, and not one snowflake infiltrated my boots.  I also like the fact that they come to the knee, a must for back-to-back blizzards that leave two-foot snow banks behind.
