Movement Mondays: Taking Rastafari to Work

Redemption Song, written by Bob Marley in 1980, has been re-made by Pop Singer Rihanna in an effort to raise money for Haiti relief. To download the song and donate to the cause, go to:http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/Help-the-Victims-in-Haiti

Inspired by Jamaican-born publisher and journalist Marcus Garvey and heavily promoted by musical artist, Bob Marley, the Rastafarian movement is not limited to the islands; it can be seen across the globe. Many of us have seen Rastas adorned in Green, Yellow, and Red, which represents the Ethiopian flag; colors adopted by African nations and later becoming Pan-African colors. Some may hesitate to wear such bold colors in the workplace, but the look can be achieved. Check out our Rastafarian-inspired ensembles and re-create your own next time you go shopping.
