The beautiful stars of Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black” sat front row and enjoyed the festivities surrounding Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. One of the main actresses, Uzo Aduba (also known as “Crazy Eyes”) caught my attention when she arrived at the Vivienne Tam fashion show wearing a bright red A-line dress with black honey-comb designs. Uzo’s red hot look is appropriate to wear during office hours as well as after-work events. To achieve this look for work, shop for knee-length dress that won’t rise when sitting at your desk. I’ve provided a few work-appropriate dresses below from ModCloth and Macy’s. Don’t forget to shop outlet stores as well if you’re looking for a bargain.
Maggy London Cap Sleeve Zip Front Dress (Macy’s, sale price $66.99)
Luck Be A Lady Dress in Black and Red (ModCloth, $79.99)
Calvin Klein Sleeveless Pleated A-Line Dress (Macy’s, $89.98)
While Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has ended this week, the city of New York will miss the glitz and glam surrounding the week’s events. Especially….

As a kick-off to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, I attended a jewelry launch in the West Village. The Pop-Up style launch was hosted by Capwell + Co to introduce its partnership with founder of Simply Stylist, Sarah Boyd. Among the attendees were approximately 150-200 top tier fashion and accessories editors, bloggers and social guests.

The launch event showcased collections from both Capwell + Co and the trendy five piece capsule collection from Sarah Boyd. Each item in Sarah’s collection are what I consider to be “statement” pieces – and we all know that I love a good statement piece! See below:
