I recently had a discussion with a friend about the lack of R&B music being created these days. It seems as if music has taken a shift from classic R&B to techno/house music. Artists such as Usher, Chris Brown and Rihanna have adopted this style recently and I love it. However, I still miss the classic 90’s R&B from artist like Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Kelly Price and of course, Whitney Houston. When I found out that two of my favorite artists Brandy and Monica were reuniting to do a duet I was so excited! For my generation, Brandy and Monica are like family members we’ve grown up with. We’ve watched them star on TV shows, go through a media feud, raise children, and survive tragic moments. Through it all, fame and feuds didn’t destroy these two and I can’t wait to see their new video, It All Belongs To Me, which will premier on VH1 Monday, March 5 at 11:00pm ET.
