We are in love with Adele’s stunning eyes! Not only are her eyes beautiful, those lashes are something to envy. Recently, the Grammy Winner shared her secret to lush lashes with InStyle Magazine over the weekend. In addition to occasionally wearing false eyelashes, Adele is a huge fan of Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara. The UK Brand is now available in Sephora in the United States.  According to InStyle Magazine, Adele wore the Skinny Brush Mascara “in lieu of false eyelashes” during the Someone Like You video. Celebration of Cool: British Mania

by Sherria

Idris Elba

This tall, dark and handsome actor is the epitome of cool. Known for his breakout role in HBO’s The Wire, Idris Elba has taken Hollywood by storm. Elba has also starred in blockbuster hits such as Daddy’s Little Girls and American Gangster along side Denzel Washington. Elba introduced us to his comedic side when he guest starred in NBC’s The Office in 2009. Idris has not only become a well-respected actor in Hollywood, he’s become a sexy symbol.

Chiwetel Ejiofor

You may know him as Keira Knightley’s husband in Love Actually. You may know him as Denzel Washington’s brother in American Gangster, or you may know him as friend and manager of Don Cheadle in Talk to Me. Often known as a supporting actor, Chitewel Ejiofor gives you a memorable performance in every movie. This British actor, of Nigerian descent has been acting since the age of 13. After getting a taste of Hollywood in his first major movie, Steven Spilberg’s Amistad, Ejiofor hasn’t looked back.

Okezie Morro

Trained at the London School of Music and Dramatic Art, this newcomer can be seen in the blockbuster hit, Red Tails. Released in January, Red Tails depicts a “A crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard,” (IMDB RedTails). We love following the careers of new actors, so watch out for Okezie on the big screen.

Blazing Professionals with Cool Careers

Yvonne

Yvonne’s career:

“I’m from the UK and work for an international firm that provides best practices research and advisory services to businesses. My title is  Account Management Associate. I support two Account Managers directly with their member organizations. We work with a wide range of organizations based across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“My day-to-day responsibilities consist of responding to member requests, scheduling meetings with members and looking for new business opportunities. I am usually the first point of call for our members and prospects, so member requests could range from logistics to creating reports for annual board meetings.

Challenges

“Our busiest time of year is during the fourth quarter. At all other times things can slow down and become monotonous.

Rewards
“Having the opportunity to research an organization and find alignment between the top priorities of the CEO and the services we offer.

Where to start

“I went to London School of Economics and Political Science. In the UK, we don’t have majors and minors like universities in the States. However, I obtained a bachelor’s of science in International Relations. My current position is a graduate position and my networks from university played a significant role in me even being aware of the opening. My degree and my continued interest in foreign affairs helps me understand many of the business decisions both my organization and our members make on a daily basis.

“If anyone is looking to apply for the type of role in which I’m working, they should look online for resources. In any job search, you should have a genuine interest in the organization and its work. That tip seems obvious, but sometimes recent graduates are so interested in getting a job that they don’t think about if the company is a good fit for them.

Style in the Office

“The dress code is business casual. However, if there is an external meeting, we dress in business professional attire.

“I express my personal style in the office by  using shoes and accessories to put a spin on my traditional work attire. I am a big fan of blazers, chinos and loafers- which are my overriding work wear theme.”
