What Should Olivia Pope Wear?

by Jackie

Olivia Pope.

There are two months between me and my guilty pleasure — Scandal. While I’m not trying to rush summer, I cannot wait for Olivia and her gladiators in suits to take over my life Thursday nights again. To help satiate my Scandal obsession, I’ve gathered a few looks that I think you and  Ms. Pope should rock this fall.

I know what you’re thinking. Olivia doesn’t really do patterns. While she’s known for her subtle wardrobe, Olivia should switch it up with a classic must-have: plaid. The pattern dominated Fall preview runway shows, but is still easy to wear. Keeping the look simple, with minimal accessories and opting for neutral colors makes it a sophisticated choice.

A sharp pantsuit is ideal armor for the chief gladiator. Clean lines and a fave shade of the Pope palette is the way to go. Tip: Buy a good-quality, inexpensive suit, and have it tailored to create a fitted silhouette. Spending a ton of money on an ill-fitting suit ruins the effect.

Olivia’s power walk down Pennsylvania Ave. is the stuff of legend. Each stride is made even more striking because of her coat choices. Bring a little drama to your morning commute with a structured coat. Pick a coat with a defined waist and bold details to make a statement.
